Unfortunately, there are some of us who think that pampering ourselves is more of a luxury when the reality is it should be seen as an absolute necessity. Perhaps an oatmeal honey face mask? I’m sure you already have all, if not most of the ingredients!

Just think about it—between getting up at the crack of dawn to get your kids ready for school to trying to knock out 20 things on your to-do list during the day only to come home, have dinner, do homework and hopefully get six hours of sleep just to—whew!—get up and do the same thing all over again?! You should at least make time for a bubble bath, mani/pedi and facial once a week, just to maintain your sanity!

Benefits of a Honey Oatmeal Facial:

When it comes specifically to facials, not only can they soothe and relax you but there are loads of health and beauty benefits that come with getting them too. Regular facials are proven to refine pores, increase hydration, reduce fine lines, even skin tone and make your skin firmer too. They are one of the easiest ways to look and feel years younger in just a matter of moments.

The only thing that makes a facial better is when it’s made out of oatmeal and honey. Oatmeal is packed with zinc, magnesium, copper, manganese (a mineral that helps to produce collagen), vitamins B1 and B5.

All those nutrient work together in order to reverse the damage from UV rays and air pollution. They exfoliate dead skin cells and even soothe skin itching and inflammation that’s associated with eczema and psoriasis.

Honey (especially [easyazon_link identifier=”B00CMQD3VS” locale=”US” tag=”twkmobile-20″]organic raw honey[/easyazon_link]) has earned its nickname of being liquid gold thanks to its powerful antioxidants, antibacterial and humectant properties along with its ability to provide glowing even skin.

That’s why, even if it’s not in your schedule (or budget) to make an appointment at a professional spa, you can still feel like you’ve spent the day at one if you try out our favorite oatmeal honey face mask—one that you can make from the personal comfort and financial convenience of your own home!

What You’ll Need:

½ Cup of [easyazon_link identifier=”B004VLVCI8″ locale=”US” tag=”twkmobile-20″]Ground Oatmeal[/easyazon_link]

¼ Cup of [easyazon_link identifier=”B00CMQD3VS” locale=”US” tag=”twkmobile-20″]Raw Honey[/easyazon_link]

¼ Cup of [easyazon_link identifier=”B0019LVFSU” locale=”US” tag=”twkmobile-20″]Sweet Almond[/easyazon_link] (or [easyazon_link identifier=”B00QGWM5HC” locale=”US” tag=”twkmobile-20″]Olive[/easyazon_link] or [easyazon_link identifier=”B01M7Z2ESD” locale=”US” tag=”twkmobile-20″]Melted Coconut[/easyazon_link]) Oil

It’s so easy to make, we promise. In fact, the “hardest” part is grounding your oatmeal and even that’s a breeze. All you need to do is put raw oats into a [easyazon_link identifier=”B0000645YM” locale=”US” tag=”twkmobile-20″]food processor[/easyazon_link] or [easyazon_link identifier=”B00NGV4506″ locale=”US” tag=”twkmobile-20″]blender[/easyazon_link] for about 60 seconds.

Then put the ground oatmeal into a bowl and add the raw honey and the oil of your choice. We’re fans of sweet almond oil because of the high amount of vitamins A and E that are in it. If you want to make the mask extra soothing, mix the honey and oil together first. Then place the combo into the microwave for about 15 seconds and then add it to the oatmeal.

Once the mask is ready, wash your face with a gentle cleanser, being careful to not dry your face afterwards. While your face is still damp, apply the mask to your face, using a gentle (very gentle) circular motion.

Let the mask sit on your face for 5-10 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with warm, then cool water (cool water is what helps to close your pores). Your skin will feel baby soft and ready for warm or cold weather!

That’s it? Yep. That’s it. You’re just 15 minutes (give or take a couple of ‘em) from treating your skin to one of the best exfoliating moisturizers there is.

And all you had to do was take a stroll into your kitchen to make it happen. (Pretty awesome, right?)
