That time of the year has come, and every single year, we start looking around for nice Mother’s gifts we find cute. But what do moms like for Mother’s Day? We decided to ask our Trendy Mamis about the gifts from Mother’s Day they appreciated or would appreciate the most.
What Do Moms Like for Mother’s Day?
Saida, Analyst – Mother of 3
“The gifts I enjoy the most are flowers, matched with adorable drawings or handmade cards from my kids. I love this match because it’s thoughtful and personal at the same time, and flowers make me happy!”
You can get the moms in your life a cute bouquet of flowers. Or you can add a Mother’s Day gift basket to go perfectly with the flowers and make them that much more special.
If you’re wondering what to write in the card, here’s some inspiration for thoughtful messages. Alternatively, consider having them delivered a day or two early. Not only will you avoid potential delivery mishaps, but you can save money on shipping.

“The gift I appreciated the most so far was a personalized photobook my husband and daughter gave me for Mother’s Day last year. We went through our memories together, talked about our adventure, it made me feel loved.”
If your mom is like mine and prefers sentiment over gifts, consider a photo book for Mother’s Day this year. Blurb makes professional-looking books with all the pictures you want to use. A unique card from Minted is also a great item as well- who doesn’t love hand-written notes from their loved ones?
For photobooks, consider pooling a bunch of her favorite memories with her family and compiling them into a professionally printed coffee table book? Design and choose how you want the book to look, and she’ll get a keepsake worth treasuring for years to come!
Does your mom like something a little more homemade? If so, start working on a scrapbook for her. Have all your kids sign it so that it’s extra special!

“The gift I love the most on Mother’s Day is spending quality time with my family! The best Mother’s Day for me was 2 years ago. My husband and sons planned a picnic for the day and gave me the cutest new dress to wear for the occasion.”
Make your mother feel special by preparing something special for her, which could be a picnic, a brunch, or a barbecue. You can also buy an outfit she’ll love to match the occasion. Some of my favorite places to get clothes for these fun outings are Buckle and Revolve, both of which have great styles and prices.
If you want to surprise mom even more, think about the things she loves to do and plan a whole itinerary with them. You can either give her the itinerary at the start of the day, or, if she likes being extra surprised, just tell her to get in the car without knowing and set off!

“Some me time! Since I became a mom I have not had even time to think, let alone take care of myself. I love my family profoundly, but after some me time, I would love them even more!”
On Mother’s Day, many moms just want to relax, get pampered, and spend the day doing nothing. Book her an appointment for a few hours at her favorite spa for a facial or massage. Take her to the salon for a fun mani-pedi for the perfect spa day!
If spending a full day at the spa isn’t in the budget right now, consider creating your own, DIY at-home spa. To set the mood, select the most relaxing chair in the house (preferably one that reclines, but couches work, too!). Then, light her favorite candles, gather some luxurious skincare products and massage tools, and use dim lighting. In the background, play soft, relaxing music. Finally, invite her to come in and receive a relaxing massage and facial. To put the cherry on the cake, surprise her by drawing her a bubble bath!
Me time can also involve volunteering to take care of the kids while she enjoys a night out or planning to hire a babysitter so she can focus on whatever she wants to do. If she prefers to spend time with people, think about organizing a date night for her, kids-free!
If you still want to give mom something to open on Mother’s Day, consider making her a coupon book, with each coupon redeemable for a certain treat. If you have kids, allow them to write or draw on the coupons. This serves as a cute way for them to contribute to their mom’s Mother’s Day gift!

Tracy, Teacher – Mother of 4
“I love spending time with my husband and kids, so a nice dinner together would be perfect for Mother’s Day!”
Mother’s Day is a special time to treat mom to her favorite meal, so if you can do it, it’s nice to splurge on something nice! If your mom is like Tracy, she would rather have her nice dinner together than alone. So, round up all of her kids and her significant other and book a table at her favorite restaurant. Encourage her to order whatever she wants.
If you don’t have the money to book a fancy place, learn to make her favorite dish at home. Surprise her with something super elaborate, plate it elegantly, bring out your fanciest cutlery, light some candles, and make it the memorable dinner of a lifetime.
Tracy also says, “Other than that, I also really would like a book, a puzzle, or a long walk in nature.”
All of these items give moms an opportunity to relax their minds and spend time doing something incredibly rewarding. While many moms also love books, puzzles, and walks, your mom’s unique tastes may differ. Try thinking about what your mom likes to do whenever she has free time and gift it to her as a chance to relax!
If your mom, like Tracy, enjoys walks in nature, consider getting her some outdoor gear! Invest in headphones that will help her tune out the rest of the world or buy her a nice jacket so she can get out there on those crisp spring mornings.
Happy Mother’s Day
Regardless of what you get for your mom, don’t forget to tell her how much you love and appreciate her on this special day. Let us know if you have a special story to tell about Mother’s Day!
