Vol Au Vent Recipes
For the Vol Au Vent Pastry:
Ingredients:
- 350g puffy pastry sheets
- 1 egg
Instructions:
- Lay out your puff pastry and take your small and medium-sized cookie cutters (or a small and medium glass) and begin to cut out your pastry.
- Place your cut-out pastry onto a baking sheet with a mat from Sur la Table. Then, use a fork to mark the bottom of your pastry. This will prevent our pastry from inflating.
- Whisk your egg in a bowl and then take a brush and begin to brush your pastry with the egg mixture.
- Bake at 350⁰F/180⁰C for 20-25 mins.
For the Vol Au Vent Stuffing:
1. Salmon Breeze
Ingredients:
- 25g salmon from Omaha Steaks
- 75g Philadelphia cream cheese (4 tbsp)
- Lime
- Chives
Instructions:
- Combine your salmon and cream cheese.
- Place into a piping bag and fill your pastry with the salmon and cream cheese mixture.
- Top off with more salmon, a slice of lime, and chives.

2. Sweet Apple
Ingredients:
- 50g brie
- 15g mascarpone
- ¼ of an apple
- Honey
- Hazelnuts or walnuts
Instructions:
- Combine cream cheese and brie cheese.
- Place into a piping bag and fill your pastry with the cheese mixture.
- Drizzle with honey and garnish with a slice of apple and crushed hazelnuts or walnuts.
- Serve and enjoy your sweet apple Vol Au Vent!
3. Balsamic Cream
Ingredients:
- 20g of brie
- 40g mascarpone
- 1tbsp hazelnuts or walnuts
- Balsamic glaze/reduction
Instructions:
- Combine cream cheese and brie cheese.
- Place into a piping bag and fill your pastry with the cheese mixture.
- Top with crushed hazelnuts or walnuts and a balsamic glaze.

4. Pizza Bites
Ingredients:
- 15g parmesan cheese
- 75g tomato sauce
Instructions:
- Combine the parmesan cheese and tomato sauce.
- Taking a spoon, fill your pastry with this tomato and cheese mixture.
- Top with sliced cheese.
