I asked myself the same questions heading into the new season this year. I decided to put my old sheets to the test, and try something new for comparison. For high-quality bedding, I decided to give Standard Textile Home’s bedding a shot to see if the improvement in quality led to an improvement in comfort.

Standard Textile Home is simply the home line and collection from Standard Textile. Standard Textile has been a reputable linen company for more than 80 years. Many of the softest towels or comfiest pillows you raved about after a nice hotel stay likely came from Standard Textile. Standard Textile Home’s Bedding Review
Since I wanted to get a comparison of quality bedding, I decided to check out what Standard Textile had to offer with their home bedding line. The set that I decided to take a look at includes:
- Sateen Sheet Set (Centium Satin) – King White
- Flannel Duvet Set King/Cal King – Natural Berry
- Chamber Down Pillow (Chamberloft) Set of 2 – Standard King
- Plush Towels (Lynova)
The first thing that stood out to me was the quality. This may seem obvious with a company like Standard Textile, but it was an immediate difference. The bedding was soft, plush and really gave that feeling you get when you stay in a nice hotel bed. The smoothness of the Sateen and the coziness of the duvet gave me a new appreciation for my bed. I never considered what quality sheets and bedding could do for my mattress, but I was pleasantly surprised.
Beyond the comfort and quality, the design of their bedding is quite nice and elegant. The bedding all had that feeling of luxury that they’re known for, while still being minimalistic. The design they were going for was clearly shaping their products after what you see in hotels and spa lobbies. And I think they succeeded and delivered with some of the looks here. It also gave a nice fall vibe with the look, so it added another layer of seasonal comfort.

I also loved the presentation of the products and their delivery. The packaging of the set was beautiful, with a nice ribbon tied around each individual product. I could see this being an extremely popular gift for gifting season, as the design and presentation is already there, with little work needed from your end. Again, these little touches added a balance of luxury with simplicity.
How Much Does It Cost?Â
The biggest takeaway is the cost though, and this is where expectations need to be set. Paying for quality means definitely paying a little more than you’d find at a department store. Traditional bedding at a big box store might typically run you around $100 – $150 for a full set, in my experience. With Standard Textile bedding, you’ll likely be paying about 2-3x what you’ll find at a department store. While not nearly as expensive as some other luxury bedding brands, it might be a step up from what you’re used to paying.

But with the cost though, I expect this new bedding set to last me a long time. Because the quality of Standard Textile is so high, with proper care their products should easily last you for years to come. And that isn’t something that we can always say with cheaper options at a random department store. So here, I think the price is justifiable for what you’re getting, which is luxury bedding at an affordable cost.
