The infinity
The infinity scarf is perhaps the most popular way to tie a scarf. But actual infinity scarves might be difficult to find. To turn your regular scarf into an infinity scarf, first tie the ends of your scarf together. Hang the newly-made loop over your neck, with the knot at the back. Then twist the scarf like a hair tie and layer it to get the infinity loop look.
The bow
Want to look extra cute? You can turn your scarf into a bow! Start by draping your scarf around your neck, with one side of the scarf longer than the other. Take the long end and make a loop using an upward movement. Hold the loop in the middle. You should see a bow shape. Take the short end of the scarf and wrap it around the bow. Then bring the short end of the scarf around the bow and through the middle. Once the end comes through the other side, pull on it a bit to tighten and arrange the bow to your liking.
The NYC
Start by folding the scarf in half. Drape it around your neck. Take one end of the scarf and pull it through the loop. Then twist the loop. Pull the other end through the loop and adjust the knot to your liking.
The West Village
AKA the double ascot, this one is for those of you who are feeling a bit less mainstream. Start by draping the scarf around your neck, making sure both ends are equal. Take the left end and loop it around and behind the right end. You should now have a loop around your neck with two ends draping down. Take the left end and loop it around and behind the right end again. Then pull down on both ends to make a firm knot.
The Twist
Got an extra long scarf? Try this look to turn it into a quasi-necklace. Start by looping the scarf around your neck, with the other two ends of the scarf draped on either side. Take one end and twist it around the existing loop until you reach the halfway point of the loop. Repeat with the other end. Arrange the ends at the center front and adjust to your liking.
With these nifty knots, you can look chic and fashionable while keeping your neck warm. No longer will you have to drape a scarf around your neck and act like you tied it (you didn’t). Because now you can!
