How It Works
For the uninitiated, here’s what the Shark Vac mop does:
When you turn it on, it initiates a suction that sucks dirt and debris onto a pad on the bottom of the device. The mess gets locked in so that you’re not just pushing dirt around your house. Then, you can spray the floors and glide the pad back over them to ensure the best clean.
The device has LED lights attached to the front so you can easily spot hidden crooks and crannies that need cleaning.
Opening the Box
When you first get your Shark mop vacuum, you’ll open the box to find a vacuum and mop device that requires minimal assembly (find more on assembly under “What We Liked”). For those who need it, Shark has included an instructions manual, and you can refer to it to learn more about your new Shark vac mop. The device is battery-operated, so it also comes with a charging base.
What We Liked
First things first: the mop vacuum combination impresses right out of the box. It requires some assembly, but it wasn’t difficult, and we didn’t even need instructions! So, it’s pretty self-explanatory and great for people who don’t like following steps.
When we turned the vacuum on, it stayed relatively quiet. Moving it around didn’t take a lot of effort because it’s lightweight. In fact, the head of the vacuum drives itself, so you don’t even have to lift it. It would be perfect for people who have mobility and lifting issues, carpal tunnel syndrome, seniors, or anyone else who dislikes lugging around a hefty piece of equipment.
As it glided across the floor, we noted that it had really good suction. It doesn’t leave your floors and carpets wet after vacuuming and mopping, either!
As mentioned before, it runs on a battery and doesn’t have a cord. So, you also won’t have to worry about accidentally yanking a plug out of the wall!
What We Didn’t Like
This list is going to be much shorter! We did notice that the quality of the materials the Shark mop vacuum was made out of seemed a little cheap for the price. However, it still operated well, and we really would recommend it to people in need of a vacuum and/or mop! On the off-chance it breaks, you won’t have to lose money, either. It comes with a free, 1-year limited warranty. You can purchase a product protection plan, too, for additional coverage.
Other than that, we just wish it came in more colors! The gray body will fit most home aesthetics, so you’ll probably not dislike its appearance. But wouldn’t it be fun to be able to buy it in pink, purple, or another trendy color?
