Instructions – Turkey Skewers Recipe

  1. Marinate the Turkey: In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, olive oil, sesame oil, honey, and minced garlic. This creates a flavorful marinade for the turkey.
  2. Add the Turkey: Add the cut-up turkey pieces to the marinade bowl and toss to coat them thoroughly. Ensure each piece of turkey is covered in the flavorful mixture.
  3. Marinating Magic: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or aluminum foil and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, but ideally 2-3 hours. This allows the marinade to infuse the turkey with delicious flavor and make it extra juicy.
  4. Veggie Prep Party: While the turkey marinates, it’s time to prep the colorful vegetables for your skewers. First, tackle the onion: cut it into quarters, then separate the layers to create individual wedges. This will make them easier to thread onto the skewers and cook evenly.
  5. Chop, Chop, Chop! Next, chop the red bell pepper into large chunks, aiming for a similar size to the onion wedges. This ensures even cooking on the grill.
  6. Mushroom Mania: Slice your mushrooms. If you’re using smaller mushrooms, simply halve them.
  7. Skewer Assembly: Now for the fun part – building the skewers! Thread the marinated turkey pieces, onion wedges, red bell pepper chunks, and mushrooms onto skewers in an alternating pattern. You can use wooden or metal skewers for this. Aim for 4 pieces of turkey per skewer, but feel free to adjust based on your preference.
  8. Don’t Toss the Magic! Reserve the leftover marinade in the bowl. We’ll use it later to add extra flavor while grilling.
  9. Grill Time! Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully place the assembled the skewer on the grill.
  10. Baste and Glaze: Using a silicone brush, baste the skewers with the leftover marinade from the bowl. This adds another layer of flavor and helps prevent them from drying out.
  11. Flipping for Even Cooking: After a few minutes, use tongs to gently turn the skewers so all sides cook evenly.
  12. Time to Eat! The skewers should be cooked through in about 10 minutes, depending on the heat of your grill. To check for doneness, cut into a piece of turkey – the juices should run clear, not pink.
  13. Serving Up a Winner: Once cooked, transfer the skewers to a serving plate and sprinkle them with sesame seeds for an extra visual touch (optional).

Now you have a delicious and healthy Super Bowl party pleaser ready to be devoured by your hungry guests! Enjoy the game and celebrate with these flavorful turkey and vegetable skewers!
