Instructions to Make Gluten-Free Rice Bread:

  1. If you haven’t already, make sure your rice is soaked thoroughly in water for at least 2 hours. This is crucial to making your rice bread!
  2. Pour 1 cup of water into a small bowl.
  3. Add the sugar, yeast, and salt into the bowl with the water. Stir all the ingredients together with a spoon or fork to mix. You want to make sure that the yeast is dissolved fully in the water.
  4.  In a blender, add the soaked rice. Pour in the yeast mixture from the previous step. If your blender is in a smaller size like ours, feel free to add the ingredients in smaller portions. We recommend blending 4 tablespoons of rice and 2 tablespoons of the yeast mixture at once. You can continue adding small amounts of rice and the yeast mixture into the blender until everything is added.
  5. Once the rice and yeast mixture is blended, add the oil to the gluten free flour blend and mix once more. When it’s done, it should have a runny consistency (thicker than water but thinner than yogurt).
  6. Grease a toast pan with oil or butter. Also, make sure the sides are greased!
  7. Pour the gluten-free rice bread mixture into the pan.
  8. To prevent the mixture from drying in the oven, you’ll want to spritz some water over the top. You can do this easily with a spray bottle.
  9. Place a cloth over the pan and let the mixture rise for at least 20 minutes to let the yeast work its magic. You want the mixture to double in size.
  10. While you’re waiting for the mixture to rise, preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  11. After the 20 minutes is over, uncover the pan and spritz the top of the mixture one last time with water.
  12. Place the pan in the oven and bake for 35 to 40 minutes. The top should have a nice golden brown color to it as it bakes!
  13. Let it cool before slicing and enjoy your delicious rice bread!
