Father’s Day DIY Cards
1. Revealing Card
Materials:
- White paper A4
- Colored Paper A4
- Glue
- Scissors
- Pencil
- Watercolor Pens
- Stickers
- Ruler
- Hole Sheets Protector
Find all these materials in Target!
Templates
Instructions:

- Take the template and outline it on 2 sheets of paper.
- Cut out your sheets of paper, as shown in our video tutorial. If you need cutting tools, check out Cricut!
- Fold your colored sheet of paper along the lines of the template.
- Repeat the last step with your white sheet of paper.
- Using a glue stick glue down your white sheet of paper on top of your colored sheet.
- Fold the edge of your sheets of paper and glue the other side down to this fold. Creating a paper ‘pouch’.
- Place the piece of paper with the drawing on top of a clear sheet protector. With a pen, outline the piece of paper onto the sheet protector.
- With scissors, cut out a piece of clear sheet protector, following the outline we just created.
- Color or paint in your drawing and then once dry, glue down your piece of sheet protector.
- Place paper tape on top of the sheet protector, to ensure the sheet protector is secured.
- Take a piece of colored paper and glue it down, over the top of the paper tape.
- Taking a black marker, begin to add the finishing touches to the sketch, drawing on the clear sheet protector.
- Carefully, slide your drawing into the paper ‘pouch’ we created. Making sure that the colored sketch is hidden behind the paper and that the only thing visible from the front is the clear sheet protector. Then, the whole design is revealed when lifting the top of the card.

2. Explosion Card
Materials:
- White paper A4
- Colored Paper A4
- Glue
- Scissors
- Pencil
- Watercolor Pens
- Stickers
- Ruler
- Hole Sheets Protector
Instructions:
- Take a square of paper that’s 19×19 cm. Fold and unfold, creating a diagonal crease.
- Fold and unfold, creating a horizontal crease straight through the middle.
- Now, push in the left and right sides (at the valley folds), to once again form a triangle.
- With your triangle, fold the corners in towards the center. Flip over and repeat on the other side.
- Working with one side at a time, unfold the left and right corners.
- Invert the right corner to the inside at the fold line as shown in our video tutorial.
- Repeat the last step on the other side.
- Flip your piece of paper over and repeat, inverting the left and right corners.
- Take another piece of paper that’s 21×10 cm.
- Fold a sheet of card paper in half, forming a square. Then unfold so you have a crease straight through the middle.
- Place the first sheet of paper that we folded on the bottom half of the card paper. Glue it down to both sides.
- Optional – Write on the front of the card and stick on cute stickers if you wish.
