In this article, we’ll show you how to make 3 adorable fall projects. You’ll be making pumpkin toilet paper, a mushroom terrarium, and a fall-themed 3D shadowbox frame! So, break out the hot glue and ribbons and take a look at these creative DIY fall crafts!
DIY Fall Décor Ideas #1: Pumpkin Toilet Paper
Materials:
- Autumnal style fabric (large enough to cover an entire toilet paper roll)
- Scissors
- Branches
- Autumnal embellishment: acorns, leaves, etc.
- Cute ribbons
- Toilet paper
Instructions:
- Start by unraveling a little bit of toilet paper.
- Then, you’ll want to re-wrap the roll, making large twists to add volume. Tuck the end into one of the wraps to secure the paper.
- Now take a piece of fabric and place the toilet paper on top. Fold the corners of the fabric and tuck it into the hole in the toilet paper tube. If you have shorter sides, you can make pleats before tucking.
- If you want a larger pumpkin, gently pull out the fabric to make it more voluminous.
- Insert the branch into the top.
- Tie a ribbon around the stem and decorate it with other embellishments like leaves, acorns, etc.!
- Place it on your table, countertop, or anywhere else that needs a bit of autumnal atmosphere!
DIY Fall Décor Ideas #2: Mushroom Terrarium
Materials:
- Mason jar
- Twine
- White marker
- Scissors
- Hot glue gun
- Cute autumn decorations (mini branches, leaves, foxes, acorns, and mushrooms)
- Little wooden bowl
- Potting soil
- Decorative stones
- A spoon
Instructions:
- Unravel some twine and dab a bit of hot glue on one end.
- Now, place the twine with the glue on the side of your jar towards the bottom. Start wrapping the twine around the jar until it’s about 1-inch in height.
- Cut the twine and hot glue the end to secure it from unraveling.
- Add hot glue to the top of the jar lid. Stick it inside the wooden bowl to make the mushroom cap.
- With your white marker, draw circles to the top of the bowl to decorate the mushroom cap.
- Add a few spoonfuls of potting soil to the bottom of the jar. Then place the rocks on top of the soil. If you have other items like branches or acorns, you can also add them into the jar as you please.
- Screw on the mushroom cap lid, and ta-da! Instant DIY fall crafts!
DIY Fall Décor Ideas #3: 3D Fall Frame
Materials:
- Artificial leaves, berries, acorns
- Cute decorations (stickers, small items, etc.)
- Tape
- Hot glue gun
- Gold marker
- Shadowbox frame
- A printed phrase or text of your choosing
Instructions:
- If you haven’t done so already, cut out the printed text from the paper.
- Tape the text to the glass on the back of the frame (the printed part should be facing out).
- Flip the frame over and use your gold marker to trace the text onto the glass.
- Remove the paper from the frame. You should now see your text clearly written in gold on the front.
- Using your hot glue gun, add your branches, berries, acorns, or other decorative items to the backside of the glass. You can also embellish the front of the frame too! Be creative and adjust the composition to your liking.
- Hang it on your wall or place it on your table or fireplace mantel!
